Brendan LaCorte, LAC

Brendan LaCorte (he/him) is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of New Jersey. Brendan specializes in the treatment of adolescents, young adults, adults, and children with a special interest in working with boys and men. Brendan currently employs a combination of therapeutic modalities, primarily utilizing techniques derived from Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT).

These techniques enable Brendan to combine evidence-based techniques with his skills as a compassionate counselor, resulting in effective solutions. He has counseled clients struggling with a wide array of mental health difficulties, including anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, depressive disorders, adjustment disorders, and substance abuse.

Brendan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 2016. He went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of New Jersey in 2021.

Prior to joining the Center for Anxiety and Behavior Management, Brendan gained experience as a clinician at Anxiety Institute, a facility that provided intensive outpatient (IOP) and outpatient services, where he worked with clients to develop specialized skills in the treatment of anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorders in individual and group settings. Brendan has worked in intensive and non-intensive mental health settings with clients with diverse backgrounds and needs for nearly a decade.

I see my role as a counselor as helping my clients find the strength in themselves to overcome the problems that they are facing in their lives. By forming powerful bonds with my clients, I allow them, and their families, to gain mastery over the difficulties that they are facing in order to become their authentic selves.
