Therapy for Children

One of the most difficult life experiences is for parents to see their children suffering. You know that life is full of challenges and obstacles, but when you see your child facing them, it can be incredibly difficult and painful. Children often lack the skills necessary to navigate the challenges they face. Therapy can teach children new ways of understanding their worlds, emotion management techniques, problem solving to help develop their ability to make helpful decisions, and communication skills.

Please note that, the younger the child, the more parent involvement in evidence-based treatment is recommended.

Some of the areas in which we help children are:

  • ADHD
  • Anxiety (Worries, Panic, Social, Separation, Phobias/Fears)
  • Coping with Chronic Illnesses
  • Defiance/Noncompliance
  • Depression
  • Eating Issues
  • Emotion Regulation (Anger, Impulse Control)
  • Grief and Loss
  • Obsessions and Compulsions
  • Peer Problems
  • Perfectionism
  • PTSD (Trauma and Abuse)
  • School Refusal
  • Self-Esteem
  • Stress Management
  • Tics and Hairpulling
