Devin Allen is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the state of New Jersey, dedicated to providing compassionate and empathetic care to children, adolescents, and adults. She utilizes evidenced-based treatment methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. Devin enjoys working from a strengths-based approach to help personalize each individual’s therapeutic journey and make it an empowering and positive experience. Devin is skilled in addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, social conflicts, school issues, and struggles with self-esteem.
Devin previously worked as a medical social worker at Morristown Medical Center. During her time there, she worked on every floor including the Orthopedic/Trauma floor, other medical and surgical floors, the emergency department, ICUs, maternity, NICU, and pediatrics. Here she employed short-term interventions to provide supportive counseling for patients and their families struggling with new diagnoses, significant life changes, emotional distress, grief, and postpartum anxiety or depression. She also assessed for concrete needs and connected patients to resources in the community.
Devin earned her master’s degree in social work from Rutgers University, with an emphasis on Clinical Social Work. Her goal in pursing social work was to do her best to leave the world a little better than before.
