Lilas Humen, LCSW

Lilas Humen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works with adults, couples, families, and adolescents using multiple evidence-based modalities to help clients develop tools to cope with psychological distress symptoms and life challenges. Lilas’ approach is rooted in compassionate care, emphasizing working in partnership with clients as they navigate change towards healthy goals. She has extensive experience working with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), feeding and eating disorders, gender dysphoria, OCD, relationship conflict issues, coping with change, and substance use disorders.

Lilas graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and philosophy from Connecticut College in 2009 and obtained her master of social work (MSW) graduate degree from New York University in 2017. Prior to joining the Center for Anxiety and Behavior Management, Lilas worked in various settings including inpatient, partial-hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and outpatient where she worked with clients with diverse backgrounds and needs. Lilas is experienced in using multiple modalities to help clients develop tools to cope with an array of issues and has training in Motivational Interviewing (MI), Short-Term Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Lilas believes in the importance of utilizing individual client strengths to help them achieve their goals, prioritizes creating a safe environment to explore change, and continues to expand her knowledge via training seminars, literature, and workshops.
