Jeff Gilmore is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey, providing therapy to children, teens, young adults, and adults. Jeff specializes in providing therapy in the areas of depression, anxiety, perfectionism and stress management, PTSD and dissociation, co-occurring substance use and mental health, mood disorders, behavior issues, and chronic mental health. Jeff is trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Jeff attended The University of Pittsburgh where he received a B.S. in Psychology, and went on to Kean University to complete a M.A. in Counselor Education, with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Before joining the Center for Anxiety and Behavior Management, Jeff has worked for over ten years in community non-profit. During this time, Jeff provided in-home therapy to children and families, outpatient therapy to all ages, and went on to specialize in and supervise programs focusing on mental health services for teens, young adults, and adults.
Jeff works to create a relaxed and collaborative atmosphere in therapy. Jeff utilizes the variety of his training and experience to find an approach that is individualized for each client. Jeff has a client-
centered and strengths-based approach, while also focusing on evidence-based practices to supportively challenge clients, teach clients new coping skills, and assist clients in gaining further insight into themselves, in order to elicit positive change in their lives.
