Clinical Services
We believe in using effective and evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches to help our patients. Our goal is to teach you to master the skills necessary for addressing your struggles so that you are equipped to handle future difficulties on your own. We don’t want to solely help you “put out the fire” but want to also educate you on preventing the “fires” from happening in addition to providing you with the knowledge base and skill set for putting out future “fires” on your own.
For child patients to experience success, parents and caregivers should expect to be involved in treatment. The younger the child is, the more involved the parents or caregivers will need to be.
For adult patients, it is sometimes helpful to include other family members including spouses, parents, significant others, or children.
To get a complete and accurate picture of what may be contributing to the presenting struggles, it is often in our patients’ best interests that we consult with other professionals during the assessment and treatment process. This helps us gather pertinent information and allows our diagnosis to be more accurate and treatment strategies to be more effective. Other professionals include pediatricians, physicians, psychiatrists, teachers, etc. Of course, we only communicate with other professionals with your written permission, so our recommendations for these consultations will be discussed with your before they occur.
