Martina Surbeska is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of New Jersey, experienced in the application of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy (PCT). She has substantial experience working with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders. Martina also has significant experience working one-on-one with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and children with behavioral challenges.
Martina earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from William Paterson University of New Jersey. Her work as a mental health counselor at Wayne Counseling & Family Services (WCFS) allowed her to deepen her theoretical orientation and collaborate effectively with clients, fostering meaningful solutions for lasting change. In addition, Martina has valuable experience working in a self-contained classroom, providing individualized support to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and attention-deficit disorder (ADD).
As she continues to develop her counseling career, Martina remains committed to utilizing CBT to create tailored therapeutic interventions that address the unique needs of each client. She is passionate about creating an empathetic, supportive environment, helping clients build resilience as well as guiding them toward lasting emotional well-being through evidence-based approaches.
